ugh, another samurai game with guns

So, seriously, another samurai game where they just had to throw in guns? I mean, Ghost of Yōtei was doing just fine with swords, bows, and the whole steel-flashing-in-the-moonlight vibe, but no, they had to add matchlock rifles because apparently authenticity can always use a dose of bang-bang. Why can’t these game developers figure out that the allure of being a samurai is literally in the katana-swinging, bushido-following, honor-bound antics of slicing through snowdrifts—not plinking away like some musket-wielding grunt? Ugh.

Whoever thought mix-and-match with eras would be a great idea clearly forgot they were working on a flagship PS5 title for 2025—heavy on the flagship pretentiousness but light on the actual engaging ideas. You remember when all you had to do was navigate terrain, glide through forests, and feel like a wind-swept warrior poet? Yeah, those were the days. Now you’re some samurai-cum-sniper juggling bullet management instead of focusing on honing your blade skills.

And don’t even get me started on how this makes me feel like they’re trying to push us all towards portable consoles for a quick fix of generic nonsense. If gaming’s just going to be a fusion of ‘what could have been’ and ‘who asked for this,’ I might as well just grab this specific text and invest there instead. Whatever.
