here we go again with the pointless ‘crisis’ mechanic in Civ 7

by Author

The geniuses behind Civilization VII decided to throw in a ‘crisis’ mechanic at the end of every era. I mean, who even asked for this? It’s like they decided to sprinkle some random chaos for the fun of it because managing empires wasn’t already stressful enough. Suddenly, you’re minding your own business, growing your city, and bam! A scripted historical collapse. Bronze Age? Nope, more like bronze disaster. The whole expansionist gameplay we’ve all been conditioned to love just gets tossed out the window. Thanks a lot!

And don’t get me started on the shift to survivalist defense strategies. Have you ever tried to defend a half-built civilization against a nonsensical script that throws you into imaginary oblivion? I was just trying to live my virtual life, building wonders and trading fake goods, but no! The crisis mechanic comes waltzing in uninvited. It’s like a bad plot twist that nobody saw coming or wanted, for that matter.

If I wanted to simulate surviving historical collapses, I’d read a history book or something equally tedious. Seriously, visiting random blog pages might be a better use of time than dealing with this nonsense. Whatever.
