I just noticed the fan on my Xbox One S sounded like a small hurricane. So, I decided to open it up, which felt like a risky surgery. [INSERT_IMAGE_1] It’s supposed to keep me relaxed, not turn into a noise machine. Anyway, grabbing a set of screwdrivers, I faced it like a brave (but slightly lazy) knight. The console decided to fight me back, you know, those stubborn torx screws were everywhere.
Finally got it open after some grunting and swearing. It’s like a horror movie in there—dust bunnies the size of small animals. So much for visually clean gadgets. The fan? Yeah, covered in thick lint as if it were trying out for a fur coat. Who knew this thing could even run under all that?
I had to brush all the dust out, and of course, it goes flying everywhere like 2020’s chaos. But, once cleared, the internals looked more like they actually have a purpose, instead of a junkyard. Oh, and don’t even get me started on that thermal paste situation; what a mess. [INSERT_IMAGE_2] Replaced it with some fresh stuff. Felt like a consolation prize. Also, note to self: get one of those dust blowers next time. They might actually prevent flying lint monsters.
Put everything back, hoping I didn’t mess it up (spoiler: I didn’t break anything, this time). Plugged it in, turned it on… Silence. Sweet, sweet silence. Just me, the game, and no hurricanes. But for how long? We all know it’s just waiting to muck up again. Ugh, tech. Why can’t they make them dust proof already?
I saw this article about some new gadgets, and I bet they’ll have some insane stuff that’s impossible to clean hidden inside. Who even thinks of these designs? Anyway, I’ll probably have to do this all over again, but for now, bliss. My hands are still shaky. I need a snack.
